Step Inside

How lucky, to have a room of one's own?
Filled with the flotsam and jetsam,
and 'creative's' detritus, even.
Here's Flora's Atelier.
Reflecting the aftermath of frenzy of flora'ing.
In between these stormy clouds, over our weekend.
The studio dyed, sculpted and formed lots of
loveliness.
Lace and feathers get a new colour.
Saw these colours in the sky.

Dyed tulle, over-size roses.
The rain's freshened up the garden.
This normally conservative Yucca, has knocked itself out and produced this astonishment!
Do you ever feel like this after a storm?
Seeing God?
Funny, I pulled this card out of my Gita Boxed Set of Inspiration, just after
Mr Fascinata yelled out to me about the Yucca's magic.
Here's more magic, as below.
And, if you ran around like a nit-wit trying to source something wonderful, price-friendly and unique
for the past racing season or any event, now's the time to
turn to a Flora-One-of-a-Kind.
What's not to love?
These hair feather adornments are beautiful, too.

Don't think I've got any time for frippery in the coming week.
No-sir, I'll be working like mad for the Guild's Fair.
This Sunday, 25 November, 8am. Come for it all, not just Flora!
It really is a wonderful way to buy the most exquisite gifts.
Head down, till then.

Slow and Stormy

This innocent bit of grey coverage has just given Brisbane a cracker of a storm.
Thank goodness my wisdom toothache saw me out of bed early and ahead of myself
with the chores, by the time it struck, late morning.
I was  back home, with niece in tow doing the usual household realm.
It's been a nice week.
Mr Fascinata presented me with these Native Australian wildflowers.
And, the only fallout from the Melbourne Cup day of Celebration was
having to talk him out of drinking this on the Tuesday night of the race.
Here he is wearing his Flora-One-of-a-Kind Smart Pin.
Brandishing a bottle of Dom's nonsense.
A favourite colleague gave me these.
I was in a quandary as to whether or not to cut some floras from my hydrangeas
but then in a moment of decisiveness I hacked into the branches
and made an arrangement.
In-situ, beside two years' Easter Lindt bunnies
Anyone who reads this blog knows I am okay
with discerning hoarding.
Looking at those bunnies everyday fills me with a simple joy.
Regrettably, I'm not on schedule with the Guild's Craft Fair, this weekend.
November 25, from 8am.
I've been a different animal, since the toothache.
Will have to get cracking.
I've been slow to uptake.
Lots of lovelies to finish off.
Will have to plan an outfit.
The Guild appreciate good presentation.
In fact, when I met lovely G, she complimented me
on my presentation.
Found this before shot of Mr Fascinata's garden
before I moved in.
Before:
Here's the now.
The geriatric loves it, too.

It's a happy marriage between artificial smart turf and organic vegetables.
Is is weird that I really like those spam comments?
My include all sorts of complimentary notes like:
your blog is so valuable...
and a great service...
it is an excellent presentation...
I admire your writting (sic) skills...
I am tempted to publish.
Meant to say, too, Starr's Show was a sell-out.
Don't try and buy the Perrier Jouet Nature Morte, it's gone.
To a good home, sadly not mine.
And, hopefully my tooth's ache will be over in a short while
and I'll get to go out in my Topshop all-over diamanted skirt!

Clocking in at Snail's Pace

This was our room view from the Westin Hotel in Sydney. Last weekend.
Enjoyed a bit of snail's pace and Karl's Little Black Jacket Exhibition.
And, a bit of chiming between 9am and pm. Otherwise, all good.
Should've known by the room's artwork!
Before I pulled the curtains.
Fixated on the GPO's clock.
If you are still feeling vexed about Karl's nonsense with
Brad Pitt, you might want to try to get along to his Little Black Jacket Exhibition.
Somewhere in the world.
Forget Sydney, it's bumped out.
The Show's a kind gesture.
It's free and you get these huge posters of four of the images.
How nice of Karl, truly.
Don't think that's Coco greeting the visitors, it's Carine Rotfield.
Cheeky Karl.
And Anna Wintour's back and bob.
And necklaces.
After the Show, we sat by the Harbour
and I became truly grateful for my pink Champagne and
the fact that instead I could've been flying by
the seat of my pants, wearing a water-proof polyester cape, across the water,
alla those jetboat nightmares.
It's all about fate isn't it?
It's a fine line.

I'm going to go all out with the Little Black Jacket theme.
I loved the black and white pixelated images.
Won't hear a bad work said.
Might do a run on, one Flora-One-of-a-Kind in 120 different looks.
Food for thought.

Must start styling.
Hooray too, to the Australian Federal Government who announced
tonight they are finally staging a Royal Commission into Child Abuse.
Thank you, Julia Gillard.
About time.

Super Flora Frippery

It's been a lovely week for millinery and corsages.
Here's some of my favourite Flora-One-of-a-Kinds.
Some have good homes, some are still available for loving.
Let me know if you are interested.

I'm off to Karl's Little Black Jacket Exhibition, this weekend.
Mr Fascinata will miss it, because he can't get his head around
photographing the same thing, over a hundred times.
Fair enough.
Is it true Karl shot the black jacket on his Ipad? Trust him.
I'll take the Noir.

Still can't seem to get my head around the fact that my favourite
Chanel camellia of the moment is $1900...!
Here's a few from Karl's days gone by.

Talking Nature

Don't go looking for these beauties on Mt Coot-tha's Botanic Gardens this weekend.
They've bumped out, back in to their hot-houses.
Back to molly-coddling, after hundreds of adoring visitors.
Here's one of them, as below.
There's lots more going on between November 6 and 14th!
You're mad if you don't get up the Mountain.
It's quite nice.
Some lily ponds.
A bit of a nod to Monet's Garden. If you are so inclined.
Whip up some Scotch eggs and gourmet sandwiches.
A cheap day out.
Tricia's lovely one-year artist-in-residency is culminating in
all sorts of installations:
Flowers of Friendship
Arachnid Artistry
Swishy Swathes
A-I-R Mail...
and more...
Find the Richard Randall Art Studio, not far from the main entrance.
Here's some creepy and creative webs..in and about..

Say hello in Tricia's language, there's all sorts of thing to say.
