Pinned and Chuffed

This lovely feather fascinator adorning my niece E.L got 'pinned' by Flirty Feathers', to be honest, I am chuffed.
pinterest.com/gmathis11/flirty-feathers
I am in good company, with the likes of:

These glamazons!
I'm flattered, thank you Flirty Feathers!
I'm also chuffed about my new Soles, glitter ankle boots!

Might be a bit  much with the JL minaudiere, but perfect with an under-stated garb.
They are from Upittee Boutique, Kedron Brook Road, Brisbane.
And they are seriously reduced.
There's a Mid-Season Sale on!
Get in there, girls.
The boots introduced a bit of sartorial drama into the chalkface.
Carefully juxtaposed against my grey wool 'eco-dress'.
I took plain black boots in, too, just-in-case I had a serious job to do, like an exam supervision, Physics perhaps.
Whereby, the boots could be endorsing a little too much frippery.
I got a shock when I looked closely at the floor in the boots' photograph, and realised it was time to call my niece K, again.
She arrived, PA prepared, with her latest hand-crafted critter and cyber-dreadlocks, did the steam-mopping
and vacuum like all get-go.
While I did this condensed milk caramel filled frippery.
Why?

When I should have been doing this.
The workers' paperwork.
Because during the day, I did this.
Caught up with Karl, at the Brisbane, Queen's Plaza Chanel Boutique.
I love those red-head mannequins.
It was lovely, but luckily, there was nothing I felt like I had to have. Relief.
The day also included lunch and afternoon tea, with A's company.
Nice.

Isn't the crockery lovely at French Twist, in Paddington, Brisbane?

With this as our lovely view.
Did anyone else see this Christmas card from Chanel (2011)?
The icons hang on superfine nylon and they rotate!
Mr Fascinata got it for me when he purchased me a little something.
He always likes to get something for free if he's buying high-end.
Embarrassing, but good!
I suppose it's all relative, frankly, I don't think Mr Fascinata was all that thrilled when I pulled this pet friendly caper at the end of our Wedding reception last year!
I enjoyed the carte blanche experience of being a bride, I must say.
As a further nod to being 'pinned', I am floating this Flora-one-of-a-Kind, high in the blue sky of a Brisbane Winter high pressure system, it's been glorious.
It's a little felt disc, with a jewelled beetle, sequins, a grosgrain bow and some sculpted feathers.
The bow sits towards the front of the head.
Enjoy the long weekend.

Up to Scratch

Things are finally up-to-scratch after the Hat Salon. Thanks to my niece. I sent her a text message today. 'Are you cleaning today?' She replied, 'No, its nt schdled bt cn hlp u anywy'.
Thank you, clearly I have trained her well.
The poodle lamp is back in situ.
The real orchids of the Hat Salon and their fake friends are finally back outside, enjoying the rain's mist.
Cushion are plumped. Surfaces are dusted.
The cushion on the left (above) is a gift from my sister-in-law, its the most beautiful Charles Rennie McIntosh design.
How good is it?
She can cross-stitch like there's no tomorrow.
Sadly the craft room still leaves a lot to be desired.
It's a moment, frozen in time.
I'll never get on top of it.
On a positive note, there's been a bit of refashioning frippery going on!
The armoire's been fixed!
Remember this?
The armoire now comes with a strict warning from Mr Fascinata, not to overload it.
We've used a piece of bamboo from the back garden to fashion the rod.

The hardware was closed, so we looked around and re-purposed.
Mr Fascinata is stressed it might break.
Clearly he hasn't seen this.

I've also refashioned my Salvos thrift store $6 necklace, the Lanvin special.
I am not unhappy with it.
A $6 Lanvin-esque top also came from the same store. Here's my shoulder and trim, against the necklace.
I took its drama into the chalkface, no-one needs to encourage me.

I always like to maximise my niece's visit. It's highly recommended in the training manual.
I got her modelling a bit of the Orchid Society.
She'd just done two hours vacuuming and steam mopping, but she rose to the occasion.

How lovely.
These poupees are heading down to Upittee Boutique at Wilston, Brisbane.
For Sale.
We are in the middle of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.
Not too sure about the gambling issue, but all good with dressing up with a bit of frippery!
What are you up to for the weekend?

We are off to a 70s themed party!
You wouldn't believe it, I ran in to a lovely old friend, I hadn't seen for years.
Good timing, she invited me to a party this weekend! Nice.
I am going to reincarnate a bit of Ossie Clark!
I had to hide the dress-up stipulation on the invite from Mr Fascinata, till it was too late.
Here's me, paying homage to Ossie, in front of the bamboo, accessorised with a French bulldog.
Mr Fascinata's wearing this 70s inspired shirt we bought in Barcelona, needless to say, the necklace is mine.
How nice is it? I bought it at Upittee Boutique.
I made my old friend this lovely fascinator.
Hope she likes it!
Happy Weekend, good people.

Fashioning Frippery with the Poupees

Hi All, remember this stash?
Well, today I have been most productive and I have begun fashioning Flora's next range, available in the near future at Upittee, the little treasure of a boutique on Kedron Brook Road, Wilston, Brisbane, Queensland.
I'm putting 'Queensland' now because I checked my statistics and saw that the blog had been accessed in Russia and Germany!
Who would figure!? I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The Stash.

The Poupees looking almost fabulous.

Bits and pieces, carefully cut to become corsages and trims.
