Studio Time

I am enjoying the change in work life balance.
Spending time with the Dog of the Year.
Watching my every move just in case a macaron drops out of my pocket.
I have turned this lovely feather tree in to a Flora one-of-a-kind.
As light as a feather to wear, and a gorgeous head-wear statement.

I have been eating Marche du Macaron's macarons with gay abandon.

At least they are fuelling my productivity.
I have been busy.
These pretty pieces are in at The Hat Box in the Brisbane Arcade.
Waiting for good homes.

I have become acutely interested in dyeing feathers.
Don't worry those dye filled cups are out of commission and Mr Fascinata only
uses a large mug for his tea and you won't see it pop up here.
Have some decorum.

I will let you know where it all goes.
I've had a nice mention in Brisbane Arcade's latest retail promotion mini-magazine.
A timely promotion with the Brisbane Arcade designers group show for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival.
One yellow, one blue Flora photographed atop two sweet faces.
As below.
Thank you.
Stay fuelled and working hard.

Not all Glamour

If you are sick to death of large fleurs, click away now.
This post is full of it.
But, before you think my life is one filled with fashioning frippery, remember
that in the middle of a sunny Queensland day; I am out and about
supervising all sorts of chalkface action.
Not listed in the job description.
I have spent most of my life avoiding the sun.
And here I am decked out; slip, slop and slap the sunscreen.
Supervising Ultimate Disc (no, not Frisbee).
It must be called a 'disc'.
During my weekly Sports activity.

This week I have spent most of my other bits of the life-pie fashioning fleurs.

Yellow, peacock blue, purple, red and pink.
Now in The Hat Box.

This red one is my favourite.
 Can you tell?

 What are you up to?
Is there anything in your job that you didn't see in the fine-print?
Tell me.
I won't tell anyone.

Pink Rose and MBFF

I'm up to  my usual.
No surprises here.
Fashioned up a huge organza and faille rose.
Big and blousy.
Pink tinted.

 I've drawn from the usual.
Spent and hoarded bouquets. Dye dispersions.
Roses.
One delicate pink one, that even in decline has its merits.
Someone tried to throw this flower in the chalkface's rubbish bin.
I had to salvage and record its loveliness.
Dyed lots of fabric.
Arranged in folds to create some shadowing form.

I'll keep zhu -huing until I get it right.
Then mount it on its base or band.

I'll keep you in the loop.
Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival is approaching.
I haven't really got a clue, but think there'll be a Flora in the Brisbane Arcade's Accessories in Bloom parade.
It's in the lap of the stylists Gods (or Goddesses).
 Get excited.
