Running BHP

It's been a busy, but creative week.
I've sorted and classified 14 kilograms of the workers' paperwork A_B_C_D_E.
Today, I felt like I was running Australia's biggest industry BHP Biliton, at the chalkface.
Mind you, I heard on the radio, those BHP bosses are trying to rule a 15 hour day for workers!
Boy, they are strict, what with the clean desk rules and now this?
I've never really gotten used to the fact that one meeting with the chalkface workers might finish at a certain time,
and the next one starts at that same time.
Do the Math. There's no time for lag.
No time for any workers' frippery.
Five years ago I started this hand-made quilt with a group of willings.
It's hand-sewn, out of donated fabrics.
It's quite lovely. I think by now,
maybe 200 peops have worked on it.
The workers will raffle it, one of these years, when it's finally finished.
We call it the Amnesty quilt.
We'll donate the profits.
It's based on the Victorian tradition of repurposing clothes into cut shapes to then hand quilt to
form a bed cover or eiderdown.
We've used hexagons, supported by paper, we'll remove the paper later.
I am proud of the workers' dedication.
Next up, I sorted the cake for a lovely colleague's farewell.
I used a smoke and mirrors technique cake decoration. A good thick icing and
a colour matched real rose,
dredged in icing sugar.
It looked convincing.
Everyone thought I'd made a sugar rose.
Later too, with the invaluable help of my chalkface Personal Assistant, A, the
workers' entries for an exciting competition were formatted.
We'll submit them soon.

Imagine if we won!
I love Peppermint magazine. The Senior workers are repurposing existing clothing at the minute.
This Peppermint shrug's made out of pom-pom'd t shirts!
Do you remember how to make a good pom-pom?
Peppermint's full of all the work from those creative souls on Etsy.
The Seniors were handed a little of Flora's legacy today.
We fashioned some floral frippery
They were seriously good.

They didn't disappoint.
Nice.
