Red Snippets

The studio looked like a mad-woman's breakfast yesterday.
Snippets of red velvet and duchess satin.
Every skerrick used.
 Fashioning soft fleurs.

If I need another set of hands, at the time, I use anything
I can get my hands on.
Even, Mr Fascinata's short black cup.
Don't tell him.

 There's a certain loveliness.
In red.

It's hard to be cheery thinking of the Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines.
My heart's heavy.
I know yours would be too.
I've just come from Fr Kevin Lee's blog.
He's an ex-pat, who drowned in the Typhoon's seas, just short of two
months after the birth of his baby girl.
We know him via media coverage and love him because he is a whistle-blower
and spoke out against corruption in the Catholic church, got married
in secret and then was de-robed.
I'll be busy reminding myself to be grateful.

  1. The red is stunning my dear, so rich and elegant and I won't tell anyone about the cup use ;-) It is very sad about this disastrous typhoon, the weather has no mercy it seems. I just pray for all of the people and help anyway it's possible. Reminds to really appreciate life as it can go so easily. I just hope as much help goes to them as needed. Have a wonderful week my sweet xx

  4. You are wicked with a pair of scissors! Such a lovely flower. Yes, my heart aches for them. The death toll keeps rising. I went through hurricane katrina and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. They had already gone through a devastating earthquake and then this. It's heartbreaking to hear about your friend.

  6. Stunning, just stunning. You are a clever, clever woman Flora and I adore the red. So very Moulin Rouge. I am thanking the Universe and counting my blessings today too. The footage of the typhoon is truly horrendous. Money usually spent on Vino, and the girl childs' pocket money has been donated to The Samaritans Purse in support of those affected. We live in such a life of plenty, don't we, so it's little to give...x
