Unprecedented Events Weather-wise and Other

We've had another weather event this week in Brisbane.
A.k.a unprecedented heavy rainfall.
I am grateful that I've only got Mr Fascinata's zucchini to worry about and
not much else. Luckily.
My roof's not leaking.
Not sure if the vine's flowers will survive.
Certainly won't be stuffing those blooms full of ricotta and
soft breadcrumbs anytime soon.
Had guests for dinner last night.
I love it when guests bring a bouquet.
Not that it's mandatory.
Even though I tell them, 'you shouldn't have.'
How polite and appreciative.
These whopping white gladioli had to be lowered in under the door frame.
They are huge.

Fashioning this black flocked tonsorial frip for now.
Not sure where it's going.

How'd your fiscal February go?
All in all, I went okay. Just slightly awry with a couple of
bits and pieces. Job well done.
Now, I've just got to not pick up the slack!
No need for catching up.
Started the Calico Capers wearable art project today with the workers.
Used a bit of Dior from to Fall-Winter 2011
to get them ideating.
Not sure how it'll transfer to calico, but we'll remain hopeful.
I'll keep you posted.
I asked the workers to bring in stuff they had lying around the house
to use in the unit. This has stumped them. The response today indicated non-one
does have anything lying around.
What has happened to making something out of nothing these days?
And a bit of hanging on to junk?
Looks like I'll be climbing into waste paper and card mini-skips again, and I'd be lying
if I said I was joking.
This lovely rose mixed media and black ink collage (as below) is point-taken.
Fashioned from the White Pages telephone directory after disposal.
One of the worker's art pieces.
Now, proudly on display in the House of Flora.
I love it.

 Keep creative.
Here's house model J to remind you, now.

In other riveting news, I gasped out loud today in the car during
the peak hour commute when I realised my
$2 nail polish manicure had survived the day without serious chipping!
Unprecedented.

  1. The house model picture is stunning, love that piece, feathers are always wonderful :) And I think it's great to bring things in from around to use to create new pieces, very good :) Surprised they were stumped. The flower art is lovely, also the cabinet it's sitting on, love stripes :) I hope your week is wonderful!! And I hope the roof stays dry, no leaks. I know that can get annoying!! xx
